Common questions

How often are these guides updated?

Every guide carries the date its travel details were last verified, shown under the title and again in the footer. We re-check route facts against the operator, airport or port authority rather than refreshing a date stamp.

Do the guides show prices?

No. We have no live pricing feed, so any fare printed here would be wrong within days. The guides explain how a journey works and what to compare; the provider you click through to runs the actual search.

How does the search on this page work?

It filters the guides already published on this site, entirely inside your browser. Nothing is sent to our server and nothing is stored. It is not a flight or hotel search.

Can I suggest a route or topic?

Yes, and we would like you to. Use the contact form and tell us the journey you are trying to plan. Requests from readers are how most of these were chosen.

What should I do if a guide is out of date?

Tell us. A link to the page and the sentence in question is all we need. Corrections update the guide and its verification date, and they are the most useful messages we get.

What these guides are, and are not.

They are written to help you decide how to make a journey. They do not show live prices or availability, and we are not able to book anything for you. Journey times are approximate and every operator changes its timetable and fares without notice — always confirm on the operator’s own site before committing. How we research and check these guides.
