Editorial policy
How guides on this site get researched, what we will and will not publish, and how to tell us we are wrong.
What we publish
Guides that help someone make a decision about how to travel: whether to take the train or fly, how to get from an airport to a cruise terminal, what to check before hiring a car. Every guide is written for this site. We do not republish supplier marketing copy, and we do not rewrite other people’s articles.
How facts are checked
Journey times, operators, transfer options, station and terminal details are checked against primary sources: the transport operator, the airport, the port authority, or the national tourism body. Those sources are listed at the foot of every guide, with the date the check was made.
Where a figure moves — and in travel almost everything moves — we say that explicitly. Journey times are labelled approximate. Fares are not quoted at all, because a number published today is misleading by next week.
Every guide carries a “travel details checked” date. The whole site was last reviewed on .
What we will not do
- Invent experience. We do not claim to have personally taken a journey we have not taken, or to have stayed somewhere we have not stayed.
- Publish prices, availability or “deals”. We have no live pricing data, so presenting any would be a fabrication.
- Make unsupported superlative claims. No “cheapest”, no “best”, no “guaranteed lowest” unless we can show the working, which for travel pricing we cannot.
- Publish reviews we have not earned the right to write. No invented guest reviews, no star ratings for hotels we have not assessed, no fake testimonials.
- Claim partnerships we do not have. See the affiliate disclosure.
- Fill space. If a guide has nothing useful to add on a topic, it stops.
Commercial independence
No provider pays for placement on this site, and no provider is given sight of a guide before publication. When affiliate links become active, the fact that a particular provider pays us will not change what a guide says about it, and will not change which providers are listed for a category.
Where we recommend against something — flying Rome to Florence, hiring a car for a city break — the link to do it anyway stays on the page, because the reader should be able to check our reasoning rather than take our word for it.
Use of AI tools
Drafting and editing tools, including AI writing assistance, are used in producing this site. Every factual claim is checked against the primary sources listed on each guide before publication, and a person is responsible for what appears. We mention this because readers are entitled to know, and because “a machine wrote it” is not an excuse for an error.
Photography
All photographs on this site are used under licences that permit commercial use. Each is credited to its photographer with a link to the original file and its licence, both in the caption and on the photo credits page. We do not use supplier marketing images, and we do not present a photograph of one place as though it were another.
Corrections
We will correct anything that is wrong, and we would much rather hear about it from a reader than leave it standing. If a journey time has changed, a route has closed, an operator has withdrawn or a link is broken, tell us — a link to the page and the sentence in question is all we need.
Substantive corrections update the guide and its “checked” date. Where a correction changes the advice rather than a detail, we say so in the guide.
Links to other sites
Outbound links fall into two kinds. Source links point at the operator, airport or authority a fact came from, so you can verify it. Provider links point at a company that can sell you the thing being discussed. Both open in a new tab and both name their destination. Neither is an endorsement of everything on the site at the other end, and we have no control over what those sites publish or change.

How do I report a correction?
Use the contact form with a link to the page and the sentence in question. Substantive corrections update the guide and its verification date, and where a correction changes the advice rather than a detail, the guide says so.
