This site sets one cookie, and only once you have answered the banner. There is no analytics, no advertising and nothing loaded from another company’s servers.
One strictly necessary cookie, set only after you choose: aost_consent,
which remembers that choice. No analytics and no advertising cookies are in use
at all, and no script, font or image is loaded from any other domain.

That is the complete list. A cookie whose only job is to remember that you declined cookies is treated as strictly necessary under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR, which is why it is set whichever button you press.
Your choices
The banner offers three routes, and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting:
- Accept all — allows the analytics and marketing categories.
- Reject non-essential — allows neither. Same number of clicks, same prominence. Pressing Escape does the same thing.
- Preferences — switch the categories individually, then save.
Nothing in a non-essential category loads before you choose. The site does not treat scrolling, dismissing or continuing to browse as consent, because none of those are consent.
You can change your mind at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.
Why the categories are empty today
We list Analytics and Marketing because the controls have to exist before the thing they control does — not because either is running. As of 11 September 2026 this site has no analytics of any kind, no advertising, no retargeting pixels, no social embeds and no third-party scripts. If any of that is ever added it will load only for visitors who have allowed that category, and this page and the privacy policy will be updated the same day, with every new cookie named in the table above.
Display and reading preferences
The display and reading tools in the footer — text size, higher contrast, underlined links, extra spacing, reduced motion — save your choices in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie. That data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is not used to identify or track anyone. Clearing your browser storage resets it.
The guide search
The search and filters on the travel guides page run entirely in your browser. Your search terms are never sent to our server, never logged and never stored. If you share the resulting address the term is in that address, which is the only place it exists.
Cookies set by other websites
When you follow a provider link you leave this site. Booking sites, airlines and operators generally do set cookies, run analytics and show advertising, and their own notices apply once you arrive. We have no control over that and no visibility into it, and we send them no information about you — a link from here is an ordinary link carrying no identifier of ours.
Controlling cookies generally
Your browser can block or delete cookies for any site, and all major browsers let you refuse third-party cookies entirely. Blocking cookies here will only mean the banner asks you again on your next visit; nothing else on the site depends on them.

What cookies does this site actually set?
One, and only after you answer the banner: aost_consent, which records the choice you made so you are not asked again. It holds nothing that identifies you — just which categories you allowed and when — and it expires after 180 days.
What happens if I choose Reject?
Everything on the site keeps working. Rejecting means no analytics and no marketing category is ever enabled for you. Since neither is in use today the practical difference right now is nil, but your choice is recorded and will be honoured if either is ever added.
Can I change my mind later?
Yes, at any time. “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page reopens the banner with your current choices shown, and saving again replaces them immediately.
Does the site store anything else on my device?
Only if you use the display and reading tools in the footer. Those save your text size and contrast preferences in your browser’s local storage so the site looks the same on your next visit. That data never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
